Donating

1. I am grateful we were able to go for a walk this morning as a family. We participated in an Adoption Awareness Walk. One of our friends are trying really hard to adopt, and we wanted them to know of our love. As I was walking, I couldn't help but love the family I've been adopted into when I married their son. And adoption has a special place in our heart because the Bug Hero and his identical twin (Puesdo-Scorpion Hero) were adopted. Their birth mother who we don't know anything about gave them the gift of life and love when she gave them up. We are so grateful for adoption and for the circle of love it brings.

2. I am grateful for our screen saver. We have our family pictures show up on random like these and Friendly Hero and his friends love looking at it and identifying who's on the computer. It adds to the entertainment, because they only see every other picture. They are constantly correcting each other.

3. I am grateful that I got to donate blood today. It means that for 56 days the collection agency (I know most people get bugged about credit agencies, I get bothered by blood agencies.) will leave me alone until I'm eligible again--and they pester me even if I have a donation scheduled for a week after. I had to cancel my last appointment because I was ill. I got a phone call once a week until I was better and all sorts of emails begging for my blood. (The emails looked like "Riley's (children's) hospital needs more blood for it's emergency room. You are the only one who can fill this shortage. WHY aren't YOU donating?" To which I replied in my head, I'm on antiboitics. You really don't want my blood.)  I am grateful I can donate and fill a need. I'm O-, which is why they pester.

4. I'm grateful for our new printer. Our printer died on Monday, right as I was trying to get some stuff ready for tutoring. I was able to make it work, but it was really frustrating not to have something work. This week I realized that I do use the printer fairly regularly and it was inconvenient to plan a day or two a head so the Bug Hero could print stuff off at school. I am grateful we have a new printer and that it works really well.

5. I am grateful for bed time. I look forward to going to bed, and I love having the kids go to bed so I can have time with just my husband and I.

Me too with the blood... I loved the calls where the neo-natal area needs your blood. Don't you feel guiltly now?
