SO COOL

The Friendly Hero has a new phrase: "So Cool."

This is where it began:


He now uses it to describe nearly everything.

"Daddy Build Mater, SO COOL!" (He says this whenever he sees his Lego Mater.)
or
"Mommy make brownies, SO COOL!"
or
"Packet (PH) SO COOL!"
or
"Mater, SO COOL!" (Mater in general)
or
"I see NEIGHBOR ROCK!!! SO COOL!"

He keeps us laughing!

Cell Phone

Somehow, they know--Cell phones are cool.Dad! I've got Mom's Cell phone!

Holding it makes me instantly cool!

A new Bike

The Friendly Hero got a new bike. It's our neighbor's old bike. FH always asks: "Mommy push you on T. Old Blue Bike." I asked him if he would ever give T. back his old bike and he said no.

A Work of Fiction

Disclaimer: I know Harry Potter is Fiction.

But I can't help myself. In my excitement for the last movie, I spent the past two weeks rereading the series. I read while I nursed and whenever I could squeeze in a few minutes here and there. (Friendly Hero now tells me that Har Pot-er wears blue glasses.)

I always have envisioned Harry as a younger hero than me. The books came out when I was older than he was in the books, so I felt justified. He's a younger kid, but still totally awesome. I am wrong.

Harry Potter is 5 years older than I am. He was born July 31, 1980. It's in the 7th book. (see pg. 328--the chapter on Godric's Hollow) So then I immediately started calculating out differently things. Like the 7th book happens in 1997-1998. Like the epilogue happens in 2017. Which hasn't happened yet. Harry is somewhere in England working as an Auror and is turning 31 people! I want to go and find him!

I know it's fiction. But I still love the book...and had to share my geekiness. Hopefully it brings you joy to know that Harry is out there and his age right now.

Memorial Day

For Memorial Day we took our bikes out and the new trailer and went for a ride. I felt really out of shape and then I reminded myself that I was pulling 50 lbs of kids and whatever the trailer is. When I remember that fact, I don't feel so bad at all.

The Peaceful Hero didn't really like his helmet...it was a little big. It kept falling into his face. (I don't see how that could upset anyone ;) )The Friendly Hero LOVED the ride. He asks to ride in the trailer daily. And to wear his Lightening McQueen Helmet.
It's a little dark, but he's got a huge smile!

Growing UP!

What is it about a sitting baby that makes him look so old? Friendly Hero wanted Peaceful Hero right next to him. They both love each other!

Gardens

For Mother's Day, we worked in our garden. It wasn't originally going to be in our backyard, but now I'm really glad it is. We don't get much sun in our back yard, so we had to be a little bit creative, and this is what we came up with. I really LOVE it!

I started the plants from seeds in egg shells. I don't think I will do that next year--I think I'll just use the egg carton, because an animal dug up the tomato plants trying to get the egg shells once we had planted them and we lost one tomato plant.

It makes me so happy to look out my kitchen window when I'm doing the dishes and see my little garden growing along our back fence!
