1. I am grateful for a clean house. Cleaning everything always helps to make my attitude and the spirit in our home a lot better.
2. I am grateful for opportunities to serve. We were assigned to clean the church today with one other family. It was great to serve.
3. I'm grateful for my eyes. I love seeing the beauty in the world around me and the delight on my children's faces.
4. I am grateful that the Friendly Hero is curious. He is constantly asking questions. Sometimes it trys my patience, but I love that he wants to learn about the world. But today he said, "I'm sorry I lost my temper. Mommy, where is my temper? Can we find it again?" Pretty cute.
5. I am grateful for colors. The Peaceful Hero is learning his colors and he loves to point out colors and I love to see all the different things that he spots. (Any large truck, van or bus that is school bus yellow is a school bus. It's adorable.)

Boilermaker Express
Today I am grateful for the following:
1. The Boilermaker Express. There is a free train ride every Friday before a home game here at Purdue. I am grateful that we were able to ride it twice today. The boys were in heaven!
2. I'm grateful for the Peaceful Hero. He had so much fun, but he insisted that we get off and go to the bathroom between the two rides. He had another accident free day. I am grateful he has the desire to learn how to use the bathroom and is learning how to do it!

3. I am grateful for libraries. We went to our library right after the train and we got some more books. It was great to see the two little heroes sliding around the colored rocking chairs and looking at train books.
4. I'm grateful that Purdue's mascot is a Boilermaker. This means we see A LOT of trains around our hometown. Which these two little boys love.
5. I'm grateful for the Bug Hero. He is working on his PhD research proposal and is putting in quite a bit of time to do that. But his professor is pleased with his work, and he is getting really excited about the research he will be doing the next two or three summers.

Gratitude Posts
It's November! I love November, especially my gratitude tradition.
1. I'm grateful for this holiday season. I love spending time being thankful.
2. I am thankful for our Awesome Halloween Costumes. I almost said, "I'm grateful I'm incredibly talented for making all the costumes...." but I can't claim credit for all of them. I made Peaceful Hero's costume from a pattern two years ago, and I had help for Friendly Hero's--I followed this tutorial. http://kthix10.hubpages.com/hub/How-to-Make-an-R2D2-Costume So I didn't come up with the idea, but I did do everything else. Friendly Hero loved it, and it was one of the best we saw that night---everyone really appreciated it. I wish I could claim the Bug Hero's costume, but I did make the vest. (The white part). I did make mine, and it's my own design. (And mine is only cool because I told everyone to look for an announcement for the gender of the baby.) But I'm grateful for the costumes and that we all had fun!
3. I'm grateful for little kicks. I am feeling this little girl move around a lot. It's so much fun! At least for a month or so and then she'll be making big kicks and those are not as fun.
4. I'm grateful for meditation. I've started doing Kundalini yoga and meditation, and I love it! I start every day with about 20 minutes of meditation and time to put God first in my day. As a side note, I am grateful that the Bug Hero takes care of the boys in the morning during that time so I can be uninterrupted in my personal time to worship God.

Girl for those of you who missed the costume!
We are excited to have a baby sister. But the Friendly Hero was in denial for a long time (about a week) and told his friends we were having a brother to be like the Prophet Alma. I had some inspiration and told him that President Monson, our prophet today, has two boys and one girl. And then the Friendly Hero was happy to have a sister!
The Peaceful Hero loves babies and comes up and pats my tummy and says, "Hi! Baby!" and then he runs away. We are so excited!

We find out this week!
I spent my evenings this week finishing up an Orange R2-D2 costume. We are really excited for halloween. The last thing we need, to be ready is to find out the gender of the baby! I get to be a flower, and the color of the flower is the gender of the baby. So place your guesses. Am I going to be a pink, blue or yellow (the baby was shy) flower?
As a side note, I've been trying to convince myself either way. Each baby is an independent event, so boy or girl is just as likely. I've heard a lot of people tell me that we will only make boys, and then others tell me the probability of getting all boys is 1/8 or 12.5%* and that the probability of having two boys and one girl is 3/8 or 37.5%*, so the probability is higher to have a girl. But I respond to them that as it's an independent event it's just as likely at this point to get either a girl or a boy.
Friendly Hero is convinced that it's another boy baby so we can be like Alma who has three sons. And then we can have a gir-la baby. A lot of strangers say it's time for me to have a girl. So place your guess! I'll let you know after our first Halloween party and I'll post pictures of our costumes!

Poor Neglected Blog
I have been pondering a lot, and pretending to create blog posts in my mind. But I have been really lazy, pregnant*, tired*, and haven't taken lots of pictures. I try to take pictures frequently but it hasn't happened recently.
Friendly Hero is growing by leaps and bounds. He loves going to Joy School. He delights in the lessons and I am really grateful for an obedience chart that they made. He loves to listen for a sticker, but otherwise he refuses to do what I say and will do the opposite. (Which is scary when he just runs out of the house or tries to let go of my hand in the parking lot.) He is excited for General Conference, and we are teaching him the 12 apostles. He has about 6 of them and loves to say Elder Scott. If he doesn't know who it is, he says Elder Scott.
Peaceful Hero loves to talk. If you ask him how he is, what his name is, or how old he is, he says "TOOO!" We then laugh and tell him he has 18 more days, he's one, and then he yells out "TOO! FREE!" He also loves saying colors. He can say Blue, Purple, Red, Yellow, and Green. But anything you ask him is either green or yellow. Which right now are the colors he favors. He prefers the yellow bowl and the yellow sippy cup.
Bug Hero is learning a lot and he is finding joy in school. He also got a new game. X-Wing: Miniture Game from Fantasy Flight Games. He's been waiting for this game for almost a year. He has been in heaven the past two weeks that it has been out. Every night I have to go tutoring he has a neighbor over to play it with him. He plays an online mod of the game with his twin brother. It makes me smile to see him be another little boy in our house. It's not fun to be grown up all the time, and I love that he has a new way to be a little kid again. He is still in the 11 year old scouts, and they idolize him. His best friends at church are the eleven year olds who come up to him and share something with him before Sacrament Meeting. I love him so much!
I am doing a lot of tutoring**. I have filled up all my extra time with tutoring, and I'm done accepting new students. I am looking for balance--if you have suggestions for balancing being a mom, a housekeeper, and a human being let me know. I don't think I'll ever get it perfectly in balance. But life is fun and crazy, and exhausting*** and totally worth it. Seeing my boys laugh over games, or with each other is the best thing in my day.
I'm going to try to take more pictures so that I blog with a greater frequency. I do like sharing things here. I just have to get over my mental block of writing. I recognize that I was blessed with talents other than communicating through writing. But my own voice doesn't have to be stifled if it is not the most eloquent, because I love to read others thoughts and feelings when they are brave enough to share them on line.
* I don't get sick when I'm pregnant, (Don't hate me cousins!) but I spend most of the time in an anemic exhaustion state. For the first trimester I slowly decrease from wanting 20 hours of sleep a day to function to wanting about 14 hours of sleep. It's pretty brutal, because I don't usually get that.
**Okay, I have like 7 students. It's about 7 hours a week, which shouldn't be that much, but on top of being a mom, it is a huge amount. I love it. I'm even helping two kids with Calculus this year. I have so arrived now that I'm helping with Calculus.
***No, seriously, I'm ALWAYS tired as a pregnant woman. It's a disease.
