When do you stop swaddling the baby to put him to sleep? Is that part of the sleep training? Do you do it until he stops sleeping swaddled? I'm just curious. We're approaching getting ready to sleep train the baby hero (he's sleeping 7-9 hours in a stretch!) We're proud of him!

Good question. I always stopped swaddling when I sleeptrained them, because one of the main ways that they sooth themselves is to suck on their fingers or thumb. Plus, by then they're usually breaking free anyway, which is another sign you need to stop. Currently Sunny still naps swaddled, since I haven't nap-trained her yet, but she sleeps blanket-free at night.
i hear but obviously do not have any expierence because my baby is a day younger than yours (haha) That it is good to establish the habit before they start learning to turn over from back to front because if they are in a swaddle and do that that could be bad. Apparently they start doing that at 5 to 6 months. So maybe breaking them of the swaddle habit wouldn't be to bad. My baby is so dependant on the swaddle to fall asleep. So i think i'm going to start working on it when he is about 4 months to prepare him for the change.
On a different note we are actually moving into the one of the first streets of farmington on the centerville farmington border 1470 South. We actually had ALOT of Cutlers that came to our wedding. They are the cutlers for the cutler cookie restaurant. Brett remembers going to school with Ivan Cutler (probably not your baby, hah). We should get together sometime before you are off to the land of grad school! It was nice hearing from you though, how is life as a working mother going?
We swaddled Eliot until she was six months. Mostly because Rocky loved doing it. What I've heard is that you stop swaddling when they start to be able to break out of a swaddle.
