Bug Bowl

We went to Bug Bowl last weekend. It was fun. The boys were in HEAVEN! They loved the animals. We went at 9:30, right when it opened and we were the only ones in this tent. Peaceful Hero has a loud "Animal" scream. He identifies animals, and it's all we heard in this tent...a long with his laughter.

The piglets were sleeping.

The Sheep were interested in Peaceful Hero, and they loved each other.
Peaceful Hero would touch everything he could. This calf is 5 days old. (Personally, I'm really glad I don't have that big of babies.)
Then we went to the insect petting zoo. The Peaceful Hero got excited about all the insects except the millipede. I guess it looks too different. He loved the Tomato Horn Worm, the Hissing Cockroaches, and the Tarantula.

He touched the millipede, he just didn't scream at it with a happy face. The boys did their parts and wore their bug ties. Everyone loved how spiffy they looked for bug bowl.
We explored a few other tents before nap time and found some blocks, and a ball. The boys didn't want to leave that.
We had a lot of fun!

P.S.

I loved the Hunger Games. I loved it! (Does that mean I'm from the Capital?) I don't know. But it was Spot ON!

Anyone else post three or four comments on blogs that have to be approved, because you think that the internet ate your comment? I always feel embarrassed knowing that they are going to see three or four comments that are identical...

Funny Things from the Three year Old

So our Three Year Old has been delighting us.

We had a lesson on the Church's name. He was insistent for several months, that it is My Church. (Not Eden's Church, not Mommy's Church, My Church.) So we taught him the name. For about a week afterwards he would say, "I belong to My Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints."

Grandma came to visit and she got to pray once. She says, "In the name of thy Holy Son, Jesus Christ, Amen." Well, Friendly Hero has adopted it. He says, "In the name of this holy son, Jesus Christ," or "In the name of the Holy Son of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints," or "My Holy Son, Jesus Christ." We try not to laugh out loud while he's praying--especially when he is trying to be reverent.

Y Wing Cake

The Friendly Hero was so excited for his Grandma to come. He really wanted her to have a Y-Wing cake. So I did my best. And it turned out really awesome, if I do say so myself. (He was insistent that we have a blue R2-D2 in the cake, so that's the LEGO in the cake.)
This is what a Y-Wing looks like, for those who are not a Star Wars versed family. (It's the LEGO model that I used as reference.)

Quilts

I've been working on these two quilts since September. I realized that I wanted to make twin quilts for the boys when we moved them to bunk beds. I finished the tops now, and hopefully will get them quilted by June--and then I'll bind them. Then the quilts will be ready for when we get the bunk beds in Septemberish. (I think that's when the Peaceful Hero will be done with his crib.)

I'm really proud of myself and that I'm ahead of schedule, seeing how we don't need the quilts for another 7 or 8 months. Pretty impressive, right?

Playing at the Park

We loved having Grandma come over for a short 2 day visit. We loved playing with her, and we love the pictures she takes at the park. These two little heroes love the park and love playing!
