The Baby Hero is quite expressive and humorous all the time. We are used to it, because we see it all the time. We had company over to dinner this week and they were laughing the whole meal due to the Baby Hero's antics. We didn't mind, but it was a reminder how talented he is.
Tonight, we caught this on video. It's a normal dinner night and the Baby Hero is up to the challenge to be charming and adorable.
On a side note: We need a new nickname for The Baby Hero. He's not really a baby any more and there's another baby coming. Any Suggestions?

Happy Mother's Day
Yesterday morning the Bug Hero as me what I wanted for Mother's Day from the Baby Hero. I told the Baby Hero that I wanted him to walk without help. As you may recall, he did that for a little bit about two to three months ago. Then he stopped. He would only walk with a hand, chair, pant leg, wall, or some other support system.
The Baby Hero was walking along the wall when I said that. He looked and me and smiled. Then he let go and started walking around the room laughing at how cool he was. We were so excited! And he just laughed and laughed and then kept at it. He has walked with a hand and then lets go and goes where he wants to for two days now. It was the perfect Mother's Day Gift.
The other thing he learned how to do yesterday was go down the stairs on his belly. We have been working on it since he learned how to go up the stairs...but he didn't want to try until Monday. On Monday he fell down the flight of stairs. So he practiced for the week and now he can go down the stairs, as long as someone turns him around. He's getting so big! He's not going to be the Baby Hero for long.

Communicating!!
The Baby Hero learned how to sign "more" last week. We are very proud of him!! Once he learned how to do it, screaming at meal times is obsolete! Needless to say, we are very happy there is no more screaming.
He now does it outside when he wants to keep swinging, play in the bubbles, keep walking, or whenever he sees food. He pulls me over to strangers who are eating or friends and signs more and looks up at them adorably, hoping for food. He usually gets it and I try not to feel horrible for not feeding him enough. But he'll leave my food and go get someone else's food. Even if it's the same type of food. I guess the grass is greener on the other side!
Yesterday he learned 'Please' but that one is very haphazard. As you can see from the video he didn't want to do it. He is also good at saying "Hi" when he waves! He is growing up!

New Skills
The Baby Hero has some new skills he learned yesterday. He is proudly showing them off.
He has been trying to do this for a long time. He could get to the next stair but never figured out how to stand up to repeat the process. I have to confess, I was comfortable with him not being able to climb. Now I get to watch him and listen for him...because he hasn't figured out how to slide down the stairs. He thinks he's big enough to walk down the stairs...

Dogs
The Baby Hero loves dogs. I'm starting to get really worried that all he's going to do is ask for a dog. I don't want a pet. But he's really cute right now. Whenever he sees a dog, or hears a dog he begins to "bark." He goes, "wOOOof" He perks right up and starts trying to go over and approach the dog. Mom always makes sure that it's a friendly dog, and if it's okay to approach the Baby Hero comes right up next to it and starts laughing his head off. If he's lucky enough to be licked then his day is made. He doesn't touch the dogs, just barks at them and laughs when he's close.

Family Pictures:

Baby Hero spent the majority of the time pointing at the camera. We have lots of pictures of his hand showing us the camera. He was fascinated by the black lens.

Pretty much, we're adorable!
